Grand Canyon, Idaho, etc.

Apparently my goal of blogging once a month is too hard so hopefully this post will make up for it! Lots of pictures, etc. :)

Early in June we were able to take a few days and head to the Grand Canyon. We have lived in Nevada for 8 years and had never been. Reagan had also never been camping so we packed up and took our lil family to the Grand Canyon for a few days. It was amazing and a little scary at times (some/most of the canyon walls aren't well "secured") since I had to wrangle 2 kids who wanted to see the river and the canyon but didn't really understand the danger of being so close to the edge. We did a little hiking around the rim (not much since I am pregnant) and got to see a lot of what was offered. Jeremy even woke up early and caught a hike at sunrise one day.

The last week of June we traveled up to Idaho for the Cherry Family Reunion with all of Jeremy's extended family! It was awesome to visit with cousins and aunts and uncles that we haven't seen in a few years, etc. It was laid back and very relaxing! Plus, Jeremy's cousin Rachel was a HUGE help and loved playing with the kids- they loved her as well and she wore them out! Jeremy and his cousins and uncles re-roofed Grandpa's house and the girl cousins and aunts painted a few rooms inside the house. I stayed at Diane's and watched kids, etc. with Diane and Becca. :) We had lots of fun catching up, eating, playing with babies and even having a date night to see The Avengers. One thing that didn't happen this reunion was games- I think only a few hands were played of a card game (I didn't play it so I don't know what it's called) for a few hours. Not typical of our reunions- we usually play SOMETHING every night. We figured out who usually pushes the games- Stacey! But she and Nathaniel (and girls) weren't able to make it this year.
there were holes to be dug (thanks to Brent for the help)

ahh dinner!
we also went to the zoo
and swimming too!

We are now back at home and getting ready for this little baby girl to make an appearance- I am 36 weeks along but both my doctor and I think this little one will be coming in the next few weeks. I am 2 cm. dilated and if my body continues this trend I will be 6 cm. by July 23rd. (if not further). We did find out that I have the Strep B strain so during delivery we will have an extra IV bag of antibiotics for baby to prevent it from being a bigger deal after labor. That is another reason my doctor doesn't think I will make it much longer- apparently the strep b can also speed up your body and get you ready for labor earlier (not always). If we haven't gone into labor by the 30th, Jeremy and I will get to pick her birthday and be induced. This pregnancy has gone by quicker than the last 2 and, while Jeremy disagrees, this has also been my easiest pregnancy- not sick as long, didn't lose as much weight from being sick and have nested more this pregnancy. However, being pregnant (3rd trimester- wise) in Vegas during the summer is hard and our power bill has been a little higher since I can't handle temperatures above 79.

I better swap over laundry and get the nursery put back together a little bit since there is a lot to do and not a lot of time to get it all done! Just wanted to update you all a little bit before we really have no time!
